So Much Showering

I have been so blessed by family and friends in the last few months. My bridesmaids in Orange County, my mom's friends in Houston, and my small group in Bass Lake have thrown me beautiful and thoughtful showers. I thought I would share with you some of the darling decorations that were at two of the showers. The women who threw these showers put in so much time and effort - I cannot thank them enough for such gorgeous and memorable days.

Just a few snaps of pictures I have taken lately. I tell my husband all the time, if I could take and edit photos all day every day I would be so content. So having these opportunities lately has been number 1.

Traditional Dinners On A Time Limit

Traditional Dinners On A Time Limit

Traditional meals such as a roast dinner are up there on most of our favourite food lists. The roast
has been gracing dinner tables for countless years. Alongside the tender joint of meat and crispy
roast potatoes you’ll find a variety of vegetables, rich gravy and additional flavour in the form of
Yorkshire puddings. Whether you're after flavour, healthy eating or simply something warm and
delicious to eat, the humble roast dinner can do it all.

What it normally isn't, however, is quick. In this modern age, the average person simply has too
much going on to spend hours peeling potatoes and mixing Yorkshire pudding batter. After a full
day at work, most people don't have the time or energy to cook a full roast. Throw in family life,
with plenty of mouths to feed, and the problems start to become obvious.

This makes most weekdays a difficult problem for diners and even those who reserve roasts for the
traditional Sunday lunch can find it frustrating to spend their morning slaving away in the kitchen.
Luckily, there are some alternatives.

Aunt Bessie's Dinner Invite

A recent solution is doing the rounds on TV, in the form of the latest advert from Aunt Bessie’s. The
premise is simple; two nosy neighbours get a dinner invite from across the road. Of course, the
guests aren't expecting a full roast dinner from someone with a busy family life – but that is exactly
what they get!

This miracle of kitchen cooking comes from the range of food available from Aunt Bessie’s. Being
able to quickly roast parsnips and Yorkshire puddings, in addition to providing rich, smooth gravy in
no time at all gives cooks the ability to create a fantastic meal in an instant.

Convenience

More than just the humorous opportunity to show-up any judgemental neighbours that are looking
down on you, the advert also points out the convenience of these time-saving products.

Whether you live by yourself or have a busy house with many mouths to feed, you shouldn't have
to sacrifice quality just to get food out on time. Aunt Bessie's products can be cooked quickly but
come complete with “added roastiness” and nutritional value which is beneficial all round.

As the advert also shows, this allows you to cook the traditional roast any day of the week rather
than simply reserving it for a long Sunday. Even if you've been working all day, these food items
can be cooked quickly, allowing you to bring a full roast dinner to the table in less than an hour.
That's impressive any day of the week, but being able to do it after a hard day at work is a treat few
of us will turn our nose up at!

Comfy is my Middle Name

Everything about this outfit is comfy. Even my jeans are made of almost pure spandex, which feels like wearing your pajamas around and getting away with it. More and more my fashion sense seems to feel like a strategy of feeling like I'm in pajamas but not looking like I am. Anybody else with me? Or maybe you think I do look like I am in pajamas, and in that case, lie to me and act like I'm pulling it off. ;) Hopefully I will be able to jazz it up a little after I finally beat this flu and cold. Anybody else come down with the plague this year? I hope that just one Christmas season will go by in my lifetime and I won't experience it. Oi. But until then, I am staying comfy!

House of Fraser

Let us introduce you to our friends at House of Fraser! We are loving their coast collection that offers so many unique dresses. I personally love that peplum dark gold dress with the sweetheart top. And they got the right idea, black tights under everything is so slimming, and looks great under all their dresses! For whatever party you find yourself going to this winter season, House of Fraser has what you need!

News for the New Year

I'm ENGAGED!
I'm still having a hard time wrapping my mind around the whole idea. Greg, my husband-to-be, flew out to Houston, TX on Christmas Eve to ask me to marry him. The entire event was the best kept secret and I was completely surprised. He proposed at the park near my house where I have a hundred memories playing soccer, tag on the playground, having birthday parties, and going on walks with my parents. It was also on my favorite day of the year. We spent the rest of the evening and Christmas morning with my sweet family. The engagement ring is from my grandmother - it was her engagement ring in 1946. When we flew back to California on Christmas day, he had arranged another surprise party with his family and all our friends. It was such a special week - one that I am still trying to recover from emotionally. I am so excited to share this next step of life with the man of my dreams. I could not be more thankful God put him in my life exactly when he did. Stay tuned for more wedding posts! To all you married or engaged folks, any advice??

Happy December Everything

Well, we haven't been active for quite some time, so I want to say happy December everything! Hope everyone was able to be with the ones that they love. I myself was able to spend some time in sunny Palm Springs, CA so it was a very mild and sunny Christmas for me! Faired the elements without a jacket even.
