Fat Sweater

Let me introduce you to my fat sweater. It might just be my new best friend (sorry trunk ladies you’ve been replaced!!). Its totally awesome and flo-ee, therefore my eating is in no way hindered at the Holiday feasting table(s). It ever so perfectly and strategically hides that little food belly that appears at the end of every meal this time of year...ladies you know exactly what I am talking about! If you don’t have a Fat sweater you must get one,  you cannot survive the Holidays without one!! I propose a toast to eating healthy and proportionally in 2012! Cheers! (okay that gives us 3 more days to pig out...YES!!)

Off to India

Pairing this high-waisted skirt with cropped tops is always an easy outfit, and is a fun alternative to tucking a shirt in to accentuate the waist. Then, feeling the Gossip Girl influenced trends, completed the outfit with tights and a very Blair headband.

Friends, this week I am off to India with my team, including my dad, to serve the people there. Can't wait to tell you all about my travels and hopefully share some pictures with you as well! Hope you have a great NYE (I know mine will be certainly one to remember)!

Sibling Shoot

Well aren’t you lucky?! You get to meet my beautiful siblings! They are the greatest and I am so blessed to have two siblings that I love to live life with. They are not only prettier than me but they are both younger than me AND taller than me. Boy, I got the short end of the stick (pun totally intended).

I was at a loss as to what to get my parents this year for Christmas and then my brain struck pure gold! My siblings and I got to laugh, play and make faces while Linds took some gorgeous pictures of us! I printed them out, framed them and BOOM... Exactly what my parents didn’t know they wanted! If you promise not to tell anyone, my darling father even shed some tears. It was a great Christmas memory and a total reminder of what’s important to us in life. 

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that you were reminded of whats truly important in your life. Have you ever received a gift so thoughtful that brought tears to your eyes? I love those moments!

Sickmas Christmas

LOVE this outfit, and I wear something like this more often than I want to say. I love pairing masculine pieces (like the flannel and boots) with feminine pieces (like the pearls and red lipstick). 

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I got everything on my list, including some boots that I can't wait to debut. However, for the past 24 hours my husband and I have been more sick than we ever have before. It was miserable! We were up all night and close to calling a friend for a ride to the hospital. On Christmas! Yikes. We didn't include sharing a toilet in the vows, but who knew that was true love. TMI? Probably. That right there is real life marriage. Hopefully we can make up for some lost Christmas time in this week we have off.

White Pants

Until recently, I had made up a rule for myself that you never wear white pants during winter time. White pants always seem like such a fresh spring or summer trend so how could anyone dare pull them off in the cold dreary months? Well the other day I saw a woman wearing white pants and I was totally drawn to her outfit. I had to try it for myself, so I picked a couple of earthy tones and went with it. Here is my endeavor... I love breaking my own rules!! P.S. These pants were $3 at Target, don’t be angry!

Shiny Silver

Holiday celebrations are the perfect time to sparkle and shine. Whether you choose metallics, glittering gold, or shiny silver, you are sure to stand out at your holiday event. In addition to the shimmering material, there are two things I really love about this dress: the pockets and the one shoulder style. The addition of the black pea-coat makes it acceptable (and possible) to wear during the winter months. And I hope you have a sparkling Christmas season!

Celebrate Good Times

(Come on!) It’s no accident that that song is stuck in my head right now! It was meant to be the title of this post! For my birthday my family, Kevin and Lindsey went down to Balboa to walk around and see all the cuteness it entails! Since we knew it would be cold I layered up... High socks, tights, a dress, a sweater, a jacket and a scarf! I just recently learned how to crochet (thanks to youtube!) and this is one of the infinity scarves I made myself. It’s super easy and perfect to give out as Christmas presents!

Over the Weekend

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. For us, this weekend was full of celebration. Celebrating Torie's birthday with her family by visiting the balboa Christmas boat parade and celebrating the Christmas season by attending a white elephant party with many dear friends. If you have any more white elephant parties coming up this week, you can do what Torie did and wrap a LIVE MOUSE IN A CAGE as your gift. It was amazing. You never can quite match that reaction of opening that particular gift. Amazing.
