News for the New Year

I'm ENGAGED!
I'm still having a hard time wrapping my mind around the whole idea. Greg, my husband-to-be, flew out to Houston, TX on Christmas Eve to ask me to marry him. The entire event was the best kept secret and I was completely surprised. He proposed at the park near my house where I have a hundred memories playing soccer, tag on the playground, having birthday parties, and going on walks with my parents. It was also on my favorite day of the year. We spent the rest of the evening and Christmas morning with my sweet family. The engagement ring is from my grandmother - it was her engagement ring in 1946. When we flew back to California on Christmas day, he had arranged another surprise party with his family and all our friends. It was such a special week - one that I am still trying to recover from emotionally. I am so excited to share this next step of life with the man of my dreams. I could not be more thankful God put him in my life exactly when he did. Stay tuned for more wedding posts! To all you married or engaged folks, any advice??

  3. Congratulations! Advice: plan to have all your diy's done a week before the wedding. If there are things that need to be assembled right before, line someone else to do it/help, and allow lots of time so that you can enjoy the process. That's what I did and I had a fantastically relaxed wedding weekend. Also, make sure that you take a moment at the reception to really taste your food, and also to look around at all the people who are there because they love you. So much of the wedding day becomes a blur, but you'll cherish that moment forever.
